The Box Office Clout Of Brand Aamir

The opening day numbers of Peepli [Live] show the clout of brand Aamir at the box office. Peepli [Live] would have went unnoticed but the public have a trust in Aamir that if he is behind a film it will be worth a watch and this is why Peepli [Live] has generated the sort of numbers that it had no chance of getting without Aamir Khan.


Below is a look at some first day figures of medium size releases and all are below Peepli [Live] even though they all had bigger casts and more commercial  and audience friendly elements than Peepli [Live].




Wake Up Sid (Oct 2009) - 3.50 crore

Paa (Dec 2009) - 2 crore

Ishqiya (Jan 2010) - 2.50 crore

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge (March 2010)- 2.75 crore

Badmaash Company (May 2010) - 3.75 crore

Aisha (August 2010) - 3 crore

Peepli [Live] (August 2010) - 4 crore
